Types of damp
Your property could be suffering from penetrating damp, lateral damp, rising damp, bridging or a combination. We can’t emphasise enough about the importance of a thorough damp survey. Our surveyors will explain exactly why a problem has arisen. You might just be surprised; a high number of damp issues are easily resolved at low cost.
When completing a damp survey, it’s imperative to follow BS 6576:2005. By following this British Standard, we can essentially rule out potential problems one by one.
Part 4.2.1.3 All other possible causes of damp conditions should be located.
